Frequently Asked Questions
This is what others have asked about Mold Themes.
What is Mold Blocks?
Mold Blocks is our official companion plugin: it registers the custom Gutenberg blocks, patterns and global styles that the Mold Themes FSE theme needs.
Install Mold Blocks first; the theme will not work (and will not appear in the Site Editor) without it.
Why Gutenberg Blocks?
Mold Themes is built on WordPress Core’s native Site Editor (FSE).
Gutenberg blocks are the only markup the Site Editor understands; third-party builders (Elementor, Divi, Beaver, etc.) bring their own rendering engines that bypass FSE entirely.
By staying 100 % block-based we keep zero extra dependencies, maximum Core compatibility, and the smallest possible footprint—so every layout, style and setting lives in one place: the WordPress Editor.
Mold Themes uses only native WordPress blocks because they are the lightest, safest, and most future-proof way to build a site. Core blocks ship no extra CSS or JavaScript, so pages load faster, pass Core Web Vitals with ease, and keep your SEO scores high. Global colors, fonts, and spacing are controlled from a single theme.json file—change one value and every template updates instantly. Patterns let you design once and reuse everywhere; edit the pattern and every instance stays in sync, no premium “global widget” add-on required. Blocks also store clean, portable HTML, so if you ever switch themes you simply keep your content instead of rebuilding from short-code fragments. In contrast, page builders such as Elementor or Divi inject hundreds of kilobytes of styles and scripts, bloat the database with thousands of metadata rows, and lock your layout inside proprietary code the moment you deactivate them. By staying block-only, Mold Themes avoids vendor lock-in, updates automatically with every WordPress release, and guarantees your site remains fast, accessible, and easy to maintain for years to come.
How demo imports works?
Built-in One-Click Demo Import: pick the starter design in Appearance → Mold Starter, click “Import,” and WordPress pulls the full site—pages, media, patterns, templates, and global styles—straight into your installation. No extra plugins, no file uploads; everything lands as native blocks, editable in the Site Editor within seconds.
Theme Setting based of global styles
Global Styles, powered by theme.json, puts every color, font and spacing preset in one place; change a value once and the whole site updates instantly. Overrides are saved separately, so theme updates never erase custom work. The system compiles a single, minified stylesheet, keeping pages fast, and exports as JSON for instant reuse on any FSE install—no bulky option panels, no lock-in.
Price, Liscence and Support
Mold Themes is yours for a one-time $60—less than the average monthly bill of any hosted builder. That covers lifetime use on a single site, six months of priority support, and a full 30-day money-back window. No hidden renewals, no “pro” upsells: pay once, build forever.
